Indore, February 10, 2026: In a shocking turn of events in Indore’s Malharganj area, a courageous woman reported her own husband for running an illegal drug operation. She called Police Commissioner Santosh Singh and submitted video evidence showing that her husband, Budh Kiran Bhide, was supplying smack and cannabis to college students and hostel residents under the cover of a paan shop.
Immediate Police Action
Following the woman’s complaint, Commissioner Singh ordered swift action. Police raided a paan shop in Mahalaxmi Nagar on Monday night, arresting Budh Kiran Bhide and seizing narcotics in his possession. A subsequent search of his home uncovered more cannabis and drug packets.
During interrogation, Bhide admitted that he procured drugs from a network of suppliers, including individuals from Sanavad and Choti Gwaltoli, and distributed them across the city. Authorities are now investigating other members of the drug network.
Long-Running Operation
The complainant revealed that her husband had long used the paan shop as a front for selling narcotics, even weighing and packaging cannabis and smack at home. She said the illegal activity was affecting her two daughters’ studies and mental well-being. After objecting to his activities, she alleged, she and her family were threatened by her husband and in-laws.
Previous Assault Incident
The woman also reported that on February 4, her husband physically assaulted her, causing serious head injuries. At the time, police were notified, but no drugs were seized. Later, with assistance from High Court lawyers Krishan Kumar Kunhare and Dr. Rupali Rathore, she presented the full evidence to the Police Commissioner, prompting immediate action.
Commissioner Santosh Singh confirmed that, based on the evidence and video provided by the wife, authorities were instructed to investigate and take prompt action against the accused.
