Wife and Son of Wanted Gangster Arrested in Northeast Delhi; Attempted Murder Case Registered

The North East Delhi police dealt another blow to notorious gangster Sabir Chaudhary’s criminal network. Sealampur police have arrested his wife, Famida, and son, Sameer Chaudhary, in connection with an attempted murder case registered at Sealampur Police Station. Several other suspects are still at large, with police conducting raids to apprehend them.

Incident Details
The victim, Rashid, had to undergo surgery at GTB Hospital after the attack. Rashid, also known as Chhota Rashid (35), resides in New Sealampur with his family and runs a business. He told police that on the night of December 22, around 10:30 pm, he went to meet a relative near K-Block’s slum area. Upon arrival, Sameer Chaudhary, Ashraf alias Fory, Famida, and other accomplices confronted him. Famida reportedly shouted, “Hit him, he is our enemy,” prompting the group to attack Rashid.

Nature of the Attack
Rashid stated that Sameer and Ashraf assaulted him with an iron rod, striking him on the head. He later regained consciousness at Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital before being referred to GTB Hospital for further treatment. Following Rashid’s statement, the police registered a case and arrested Famida and Sameer Chaudhary.

Criminal Record of Sabir Chaudhary
According to police records, Sabir Chaudhary (54) faces 14 criminal cases, including cases under the MCOCA and murder charges. He was acquitted in the 2009 MCOCA case but remains wanted in connection with the December 7, 2024, murder of utensils trader Sunil Jain at Farsh Bazaar, allegedly carried out by the Hasim Baba gang in collaboration with Sabir Chaudhary’s organized crime syndicate. The North East District Police have kept the case active for a year. Notably, Sabir also contested the 2007 Uttar Pradesh Khatauli Assembly elections as an independent candidate.
