Wife Allegedly Poisons Paralyzed Husband with Insecticide, Daughter Witnesses Horror; Son Provided the Poison

Korba, Chhattisgarh: In a shocking incident, a paralyzed man was allegedly poisoned to death by his wife in Korba district. The crime reportedly unfolded in front of their young daughter, and the police have arrested the accused woman.

The victim, 38-year-old Arun Singh, had been bedridden for nearly a year following a paralysis attack and was fully dependent on his wife, Bunty Devi, for care. On 27 January, Bunty Devi reportedly mixed insecticide into drinking water and administered it to her husband.

Son Procured the Poison
The wife allegedly asked her 13-year-old son to purchase the insecticide, claiming it was needed for spraying on flowers. The boy later informed the police that his mother frequently spoke on the phone and hinted at having an affair. The case falls under the Darrie police station jurisdiction.

Daughter Witnessed the Act
The couple’s daughter reportedly saw her mother mix the poison in the water and informed her elder brother. When the boy checked, the insecticide container was found empty. After consuming the poisoned water, Arun Singh’s condition worsened, but his wife did not take him to the hospital immediately. He was admitted to the district hospital on 28 January.

Death and Arrest
Despite medical treatment over two days, Arun Singh succumbed on 30 January. Based on information from the children, police took Bunty Devi into custody. During interrogation, she allegedly admitted to poisoning her husband. She has since been formally arrested and remanded to jail.
