Nuh, Haryana: Haryana police have arrested social media influencer Hansi Khan from Mewat district following a complaint under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The case arose after Khan allegedly used offensive language against the Scheduled Caste community in a video shared online.

Offending Video Sparks Outrage

According to the Punhana City Police, Hansi Khan posted a video on Facebook and YouTube on Wednesday showing her car refueling at a CNG station. In the video, she is accused of deliberately using language that hurt the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community. The clip quickly went viral, prompting local resident Rohit Valmiki to file a formal complaint at the Punhana City Police Station. The complaint stated that the public remarks were intended to defame and insult the community, causing social discord.

Following public backlash, Hansi Khan issued an apology on her social media accounts, claiming the statement was made unintentionally and that she did not mean to hurt any community. However, community members have expressed that an apology alone does not diminish the seriousness of the offense.

Police Action and Investigation

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and other relevant sections. Hansi Khan was taken into custody and presented in court, which sent her to judicial custody. Authorities are currently examining the viral video, social media posts, and other digital evidence.
