Who is R C Choudhary, Who Targeted BJP Over MPLADS Fund and Released Full List

Political temperatures are rising in Rajasthan over the MPLADS (Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme) fund. BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya recently accused three Congress MPs from Rajasthan of misusing MPLADS funds for development work in states other than Rajasthan. In response, Rajasthan Congress spokesperson R.C. Choudhary has launched a strong counterattack, posting a complete list of BJP MPs who have similarly allocated MPLADS funds outside their constituencies.

The Attack and Counterattack
Amit Malviya’s allegations were made public via a post on his social media platform X, claiming that three Congress MPs from Rajasthan were using the MPLADS fund to carry out development projects in other states to please their high command. He termed this as a betrayal of the people of Rajasthan. However, Congress quickly retaliated, pointing out that several BJP MPs have done the same, and questioning why only Congress MPs were being targeted. Choudhary emphasized that the BJP’s habit of spreading half-truths to mislead the public is well-known.

Double Standards of BJP’s Politics
R.C. Choudhary, a senior spokesperson for Rajasthan Congress, criticized the BJP for its double standards. According to the rules, any Lok Sabha member is allowed to recommend up to ₹50 lakh worth of development work outside their constituency within a year. Choudhary argued that Congress MPs had only followed this guideline and had done nothing out of the ordinary. He pointed out that BJP MPs, including those from other parties, have been involved in similar actions. Therefore, accusing Congress MPs of being dishonest is both wrong and baseless. Before making such accusations, Malviya and the BJP IT Cell should examine the actions of their own party’s MPs, Choudhary remarked.

List of BJP MPs Involved in External Development Work
Choudhary provided evidence, citing several BJP MPs who had used their MPLADS funds in states other than their constituencies. For instance, Vivek Thakur, BJP MP from Nawada, Bihar, allocated ₹14.99 lakh for development work in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Dharambir Singh, BJP MP from Bhiwani, Haryana, used ₹21 lakh for Thane, Maharashtra, and ₹7.36 lakh for Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Similarly, BJP Rajya Sabha member from Rajasthan, Chunnilal Garasia, used ₹49.70 lakh for development in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh.

Other BJP Rajya Sabha MPs’ External Development Work
Rajasthan’s BJP Rajya Sabha MP, Ghanshyam Tiwari, utilized MPLADS funds for development in Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh) and Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), totaling ₹25 lakh. Sikkim’s Rajya Sabha MP, Sikander Kumar, used MPLADS funds for projects in Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh), and Mohla Manpur Ambagarh Chhoti (Chhattisgarh). Similarly, Govindbhai Laljibhai Dholakia from Gujarat used MPLADS funds for development in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Chandigarh’s Satnam Singh Sandhu, a nominated Rajya Sabha member, used MPLADS funds for development in Leh, Ladakh, Amritsar (Punjab), Rupnagar (Punjab), and Pulwama (Jammu and Kashmir).

Choudhary’s Challenge to BJP
R.C. Choudhary further challenged the BJP and Amit Malviya to explain why BJP MPs were recommending development work outside their constituencies. He urged BJP members to reflect on their own actions before accusing Congress MPs of betrayal. He reiterated that spreading half-truths and misleading the public was a trademark tactic of the BJP.
