Chittorgarh, Rajasthan: A chilling extortion case has come to light in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, where Kanhaiyalal Khatik, popularly known as ‘Goldman’ for his love of gold jewelry, was threatened with a ransom of ₹5 crore by gangster Rohit Godara and his associates. The threats were delivered through WhatsApp calls and voice messages from foreign numbers, prompting Khatik to approach the police and lodge a complaint.
Threat Details:
According to the police, Khatik received a WhatsApp call while at the vegetable market. Due to the noisy surroundings, he could not hear the details clearly. Soon after, he received a voice recording claiming to be from Rohit Godara’s associate, Rahul Rinwa, stating:
“I am calling from Rohit Godara’s group. This is regarding your ransom of ₹5 crore. If you ignore us, prepare to face consequences. Everyone who ignored our calls before met a grim fate. If you do not comply, you won’t be fit to wear gold again.”
