The businessman claims to possess WhatsApp chats, photos, videos, and documents that suggest financial demands and discussions of divorce between him and the DSP.

Kalpna Verma is a young, prominent officer who has held various Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) postings, including with the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). Currently posted in Dantewada, she has previously attracted media attention during the tenure of the Congress government for her strict and focused approach to duty. Known for her disciplined service, DSP Verma has now become the subject of controversy due to the allegations.

Allegations by Businessman Deepak Tandon

According to Deepak Tandon, he met DSP Verma in 2021, and their interactions allegedly evolved into a personal relationship. Tandon claims that during this period, DSP Verma made financial demands, which he fulfilled. He has shared WhatsApp messages, images, and videos as evidence, including instances of meetings at his hotel and attendance at social gatherings together.

Some of the messages reportedly discuss divorce arrangements, with Tandon, a married man, suggesting that DSP Verma proceed at her discretion but without involving his name. Additionally, Tandon alleges that valuable gifts, such as diamond rings and gold chains, were exchanged, and that DSP Verma allegedly took possession of his vehicle registered in his wife’s name.

DSP Kalpna Verma’s Response

DSP Verma has issued an audio statement, claiming that the chats are fabricated and part of a malicious attempt to tarnish her reputation. She stated that the disputes involve financial disagreements between Tandon and her father, which are already under legal scrutiny. DSP Verma further announced her intention to file a defamation case against those spreading false allegations.

Current Status

No FIR has been registered against DSP Kalpna Verma yet. The controversy has drawn attention across social media platforms and regional news outlets, raising debates about the authenticity of the claims and the ethical standards expected from public officials.
