Akash Anand, Mayawati’s nephew and National Coordinator of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), has become a father to a baby girl. Mayawati expressed her happiness over the arrival of the new family member, calling it a moment of pride and joy for the entire household.

About Dr. Pragya Anand
Akash Anand’s wife, Dr. Pragya, comes from a prominent political family. They tied the knot in a grand ceremony in Gurugram in 2023. Dr. Pragya is the daughter of Dr. Ashok Siddharth, a senior doctor and influential political figure. She completed her MBBS from London. Akash Anand, son of Mayawati’s younger brother Anand Kumar, completed his early education in Noida and Gurugram and went to London in 2013 for higher studies, earning an MBA from the University of Plymouth. Akash and Pragya met in London, developed a friendship, and later decided to get married. Their wedding and reception in Gurugram were attended by several prominent political and social personalities.

The BSP supremo shared the happy news on social media, stating that the family is delighted with the arrival of Akash Anand’s daughter. She further mentioned that Akash wishes to raise his daughter in alignment with the Bahujan Samaj Party’s mission, similar to the guidance of “Bahanji” (Mayawati), which she wholeheartedly welcomed. Both mother and daughter are reported to be healthy and doing well.
