Welcome to Ghaziabad: City to Build ‘Samriddhi Dwar’ and ‘Surya Prakash Dwar’ to Transform Entry Points

Ghaziabad: Two major entry points into Ghaziabad are set for a remarkable visual transformation. The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation has finalized a beautification project that includes constructing two grand gateway structures—Samriddhi Dwar on the Elevated Flyover and Surya Prakash Dwar at the UP Gate entry. Tenders have been completed, and construction is scheduled to begin within a week.

Samriddhi Dwar: A Modern Welcome at the Elevated Flyover

For commuters entering Ghaziabad from Delhi’s elevated corridor, the city’s first impression will soon change dramatically.
A 35-foot-high and 72-foot-wide Samriddhi Dwar will be built with:

  • Steel–glass fusion architecture
  • Modern art elements
  • LED lighting for a grand visual appeal

Officials say the structure is designed to give commuters a “metro-level entry experience” the moment they cross into Ghaziabad.

Surya Prakash Dwar: NCR’s Largest Entry Arch

At the UP Gate entry point, a more massive structure named Surya Prakash Dwar will be constructed.
Key features include:

  • 55 feet height
  • 228 feet width — one of the largest entry arches planned in the NCR
  • Sun-ray inspired patterns and architectural curves

This gateway is expected to completely redefine the visual skyline of the busy Delhi–Ghaziabad corridor, where lakhs of commuters pass daily.

Sculptures at Four Major Junctions

Along with the two entry gates, the first phase also includes installing 20-feet-high artistic sculptures at four high-traffic locations:

  • Tigri Roundabout
  • Diamond Flyover Crossing
  • Anand Vihar Entry
  • Rotary Junction

These installations will follow themes such as:

  • Pillar of Industries & Innovation
  • Tectonic Bloom
  • Annadata Shikhar
  • Code of Progress

Locations were carefully chosen based on traffic volume, visibility, and urban surroundings.

₹15 Crore Beautification Project

Municipal Commissioner Vikramaditya Singh Malik confirmed that the total estimated cost of beautification across the six sites is approximately ₹15 crore. Construction activities are expected to begin across all locations by the last week of November. The two entry gates will serve as the centerpiece of Ghaziabad’s new urban visual identity plan.

A Vision for a Cleaner, More Beautiful City

Mayor Sunita Dayal stated that enhancing Ghaziabad’s beauty and cleanliness is a core responsibility of the Municipal Corporation. The upcoming grand entry gates and theme-based sculptures will add a fresh identity to the city, showcasing Ghaziabad as modern, artistic, and welcoming.
