Ranchi: Jharkhand is set to witness a drop in temperatures once again, with the possibility of rain and cold waves in the coming days. According to the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi, several parts of the state may experience a significant fall in temperature along with intermittent rainfall.
The weather department predicts partly cloudy skies across the state today. From January 30 to February 2, mornings are expected to be foggy, followed by clear skies during the day. However, on February 3 and 4, several districts are likely to receive rainfall.
Minimum Temperatures May Drop by 3–4°C
The state has been witnessing fluctuating temperatures in recent days. While maximum temperatures in most districts have remained above 25°C, minimum temperatures have been 3–5°C higher than normal. The meteorological department warns that upcoming rainfall could lead to a further dip in temperatures, intensifying the cold. Over the past 24 hours, Ranchi recorded a minimum temperature of 15.1°C, while Kanke recorded the lowest at 10.8°C. Due to the changing weather pattern, minimum temperatures across districts may fall by 3–4°C.
Rain Expected in Some Districts on February 3–4
The weather department notes that the ongoing rainfall in northern India and Delhi may influence Jharkhand’s weather. Districts including Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, and Latehar are likely to see rain on February 3 and 4. In the preceding three days, these areas may experience intermittent clouds and light showers. The rainfall could cause minimum temperatures to drop by 8–9°C, making the cold more pronounced.
Meanwhile, central districts such as Ranchi, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, and Khunti are expected to see limited rainfall. Nevertheless, cloudy conditions and cold winds will persist, with evenings and nights feeling particularly chilly.
