Weather Alert: Bitter Cold Winds and Rain Warning in Rajasthan – Is a Severe Cold Wave on the Way

With December approaching, Rajasthan is already feeling the pinch of dropping temperatures. Bitterly cold winds have led to a significant fall in mercury, and now meteorologists have issued a rain alert, signaling that the chill could intensify in the coming days.

Temperature Fluctuations Across the State
Over the past four days, temperatures in Rajasthan have been fluctuating, with some cities experiencing a dip while others see slight rises. Though cloud cover has been moderate, cold winds from the hilly regions continue to intensify the winter chill. The meteorological department forecasts rainfall in several districts within the next two days, which will likely exacerbate the cold conditions.

Rain Alert in Several Districts
The Jaipur Weather Center has issued a rain alert for parts of Udaipur, Ajmer, and Jodhpur divisions. Shekhawati and western Rajasthan are already feeling the effect of cold winds, with temperatures currently ranging between 5–6°C. Rainfall could cause temperatures to drop by 2–3°C further, heightening the winter severity.

Fog Easing, but Cold Persists
While fog intensity has weakened compared to Sunday and Monday mornings, chilly winds continue to sweep across the state. Daytime and nighttime temperatures remain below seasonal averages, indicating the gradual onset of a severe cold wave.
