Budaun, Uttar Pradesh: Construction of the Ganga Expressway is progressing rapidly in Uttar Pradesh, with the Budaun stretch nearing completion. However, a major oversight in road signage along the Sahaswan–Bisauli route under the expressway has left travelers confused and frustrated.
Incorrect Direction Boards Lead to Confusion
Two road signs installed on the route from Bisauli to Sahaswan have been found to display incorrect directions. One board indicates a left turn toward Bisauli, when it should direct motorists to Bilsi. Another board, placed for travelers coming from Sahaswan toward Bisauli, misleadingly points both directions to Bisauli, while the right turn should be marked for Bilsi.
Travelers Face Problems, Especially at Night
These erroneous boards have particularly impacted out-of-town drivers. With no locals around for guidance, many travelers end up taking wrong turns and covering long distances before realizing the mistake. This not only wastes time but also leads to unnecessary fuel expenditure.
Locals Also Confused
Although the Ganga Expressway is not yet fully operational and its formal inauguration has not taken place, the signage issue continues to create confusion for commuters on the Sahaswan–Bisauli route. Residents report that people frequently stop to ask for directions due to the misleading boards.
Public Reaction
Many travelers now rely on local guidance or mobile navigation apps to reach their destinations. The situation has also sparked humor among locals, who joke, “Watch your step! Not ahead, not behind, not right, not left!”
