VRINDAVAN, MATHURA – The iconic Sudama Kuti, established in 1926, completes 100 years this January. To mark this milestone, a grand centenary celebration will be held from 10th to 20th January 2026, culminating on 21st January with a special distribution of prasad.
The event is set to witness the presence of eminent personalities, including RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, and the Chief Ministers of four states: Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Rekha Gupta (Delhi), Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), and Mohan Yadav (Madhya Pradesh). In addition, several Union Ministers, Cabinet Ministers, and renowned saints from across the country will grace the occasion.
Mohan Bhagwat will inaugurate the celebrations on 10th January. The centenary festivities promise to be a historic chapter in the Ashram’s illustrious journey, with spiritual activities and discourses planned throughout the ten days. Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh have also been invited for the closing ceremony.
Ten Days of Spiritual Upliftment
Mahant Nabhapeethadheeshwar Sutikshnadas Maharaj, head of Sudama Kuti, shared that the centenary will be observed with full rituals and traditional ceremonies. “For ten days, there will be a spiritual fervor that will inspire devotion not only within the Ashram but also in the surrounding community,” he said.
Prominent Saints to Attend
The event will host a congregation of saints, including Mahamandaleshwar Avdheshanand Giri (Juna Akhara), Baba Ramdev, Pithadheeshwar Dhirendra Shastri (Bageshwar Dham), Kailashanand Giri Maharaj, and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya Maharaj.
Legacy of Service
Sudama Kuti, founded by Sudamadas Maharaj, is located between Bansi Vat and Gopeshwar Mahadev Temple, where thousands of saints receive free service and accommodation. Mahant Amardas Maharaj highlighted that Sudamadas Maharaj was born in 1899 in Chhipaya village, Gopalganj, Bihar, and after spending some time in Ayodhya, moved to Vrindavan in 1926, dedicating his life to the service of saints. The Ashram hosts several temples where devotional singing and kirtans continue from morning to evening, along with cow service at the Gaushala.
Presidential Visit
Earlier this September, President Droupadi Murmu visited Sudama Kuti, traveling by special train from Delhi to Vrindavan. During her visit, she also paid respects at Shri Banke Bihari Temple, Nidhivan, and Shri Krishna Janmasthan.
The centenary celebration of Sudama Kuti promises to be a historic spiritual event, bringing together saints, political leaders, and devotees in a remarkable display of devotion and service.
