Lucknow: Speculation about the City Montessori School (CMS) in Lucknow being acquired by industrialist Gautam Adani has been circulating widely on social media. However, the CMS management has categorically denied these reports, terming them false, misleading, and baseless.
CMS Management Responds
CMS, one of the most prestigious school groups in Lucknow, has 21 branches across the city with around 64,000 students, making it one of the largest schools in Asia in terms of student strength and branches. Despite the rumors, no official statement or action regarding any acquisition by the Adani Group has been made.
Rishi Khanna, Head of Communications at CMS, clarified that the circulating news of CMS being bought by the Adani Group is entirely false and misleading. He appealed to the public not to believe or spread such baseless information.
Management Voices Concern
Prof. Geeta Gandhi Kingdon, a CMS trustee, expressed regret over the false news. She highlighted that CMS was founded by her late father, Jagdish Gandhi, and mother, Dr. Bharti Gandhi, in 1959 as a non-profit institution dedicated to character building and service to humanity. She emphasized that the school was never intended to be sold to any corporate entity, and such rumors are deeply hurtful.
CMS was founded in a single room at their residence with just five students enrolled initially and a modest capital of ₹300, growing over decades into a renowned educational institution focused on academic excellence and humanitarian values.
