Vinod Jakhar: Close to Sachin Pilot, RSS Opponent, Appointed as NSUI National President

Jaipur: The Congress student wing, National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), has appointed Vinod Jakhar as its new National President. Hailing from Rajasthan, Jakhar will succeed outgoing NSUI chief Varun Chaudhary. The Congress party has officially announced his appointment, sparking interest in Jakhar’s political background and leadership style.

Who is Vinod Jakhar?

Vinod Jakhar is recognized as a young Congress leader from Rajasthan. He has been associated with the Congress party since his student days. While studying at Rajasthan University, he contested as an independent candidate and was elected as the President of the University Student Union, which brought him into the spotlight of local Congress leaders.

Opposition to RSS Ideology

Jakhar is well-known in Rajasthan’s political circles for opposing the ideology of the RSS. Since his student days, he has openly criticized the RSS and BJP, campaigning vigorously against the ABVP during university elections. Jakhar has consistently accused the RSS and BJP of divisive politics and has reportedly been arrested multiple times for participating in protests against them.

Early Life and Education

Vinod Jakhar was born in 1994 in Medh village, Viratnagar Tehsil, Jaipur, in a Dalit family. His father runs a small-scale business in the village. Jakhar later moved to Jaipur for higher studies, completing his graduation in Political Science and a Master’s in Sociology. He actively participated in Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s “Bharat Jodo Yatra,” during which he impressed Gandhi, leading to his appointment as NSUI Rajasthan President.

Close Associate of Sachin Pilot

Jakhar is considered a strong supporter of Sachin Pilot in Rajasthan. He has actively participated in protests and movements organized by Pilot in Jaipur and nearby districts, mobilizing youth support. Observers believe that his close association with Sachin Pilot played a key role in his elevation to the national leadership of NSUI.
