‘Video Bomb’ Triggers Political Tremors in Maharashtra: Shinde Camp MLA Seen With Cash Bundles, Claims Danve

Mumbai/Nagpur: The Winter Session of the Maharashtra Assembly began on Monday in the state’s second capital, Nagpur. Even before the proceedings could pick up pace, a political storm erupted after Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and MLA Ambadas Danve released a series of explosive videos on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

According to Danve, the videos allegedly feature Mahendra Dalvi, MLA from Alibaug–Murud–Roha and a member of the Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The footage purportedly shows huge bundles of cash, raising questions about the MLA’s involvement and the source of the money.

What the Videos Show

Danve posted three videos:

  • Two videos show an unidentified man handling stacks of currency notes.
  • The third video shows MLA Mahendra Dalvi.

Sharing these clips, Danve launched a scathing attack on the Mahayuti government. He questioned how the government claims to have “no funds for farmers’ loan waivers” while its own MLA is allegedly seen with cash-filled bags.

Danve wrote:
“Chief Minister Fadnavis and Shindeji, tell the people—who is this MLA and what is he doing with so much money?”

His post instantly triggered political uproar, putting the ruling alliance on the defensive.

Mahendra Dalvi Hits Back

Responding strongly, Mahendra Dalvi denied the allegations outright and challenged Danve to prove the authenticity of the video.

Dalvi said:
“I openly challenge Ambadas Danve to prove that the video with cash bundles is mine. Their party has lost relevance, so they are resorting to blackmailing tactics. He is not big enough to be taken seriously. I will raise this issue in the Winter Session as well.”

Opposition Gears Up for a Stormy Session

The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) had already planned an aggressive strategy for the Winter Session, aiming to corner the government on issues concerning farmers and other public grievances.

With Danve’s video revelations surfacing on Day 2 itself, political analysts predict that the ongoing Winter Session is likely to witness high-intensity confrontations, disruptions, and heated exchanges.

The coming days will reveal whether these “video bomb” allegations escalate further or whether the ruling camp successfully counters the charges.
