Vehicles Barred Towards Dudheshwar Nath Temple on Mahashivratri; Route Diversion to Begin This Evening

Ghaziabad: In view of the massive influx of devotees expected at the historic Dudheshwar Nath Temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the Ghaziabad Traffic Police has announced a comprehensive route diversion plan to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow.

According to the traffic advisory, the diversion will come into effect from 6 PM on Saturday and will remain operational until the completion of the religious programme on Sunday.

DCP Traffic Trigun Bisen stated that the movement of all commercial vehicles between Lal Kuan and the New Bus Stand will be completely prohibited during this period. The decision has been taken to prevent congestion on the busy GT Road, which witnesses heavy crowding due to devotees arriving for Jalabhishek.

Diversion Routes for Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicles travelling from Lal Kuan to Meerut Tiraha will be diverted from Sajan Mod, taking a right turn towards Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Park Chowk, proceeding via Vivekanand Nagar Flyover, reaching Hapur Chungi, and then moving through ALT Chowk towards Meerut Road.

Similarly, vehicles heading from Meerut Tiraha to Lal Kuan will not be allowed to use GT Road and will instead be routed through Meerut Road, via ALT Chowk, Hapur Chungi, Vivekanand Nagar Flyover, and Sajan Mod.

Restriction on Light Commercial Vehicles

The Traffic Police has also imposed a complete restriction on the movement of light commercial vehicles between Chaudhary Mod and Hapur Tiraha.

Designated Parking Arrangements

To facilitate pilgrims, several designated parking areas have been arranged:

  • Devotees coming from GT Road/Ambedkar Road (Vijaynagar Railway Bridge side) will be required to park at Ramlila Ground, Ghantaghar, and proceed to the temple on foot.
  • Those arriving from the New Bus Stand side will park at Ramlila Ground, Ghantaghar after crossing the Patel Nagar Flyover.
  • Visitors coming from Hapur Road will park their vehicles along the roadside near Navyug Market Road.
  • Devotees arriving from Vijaynagar side will be directed to park at the Military Ground, Vijaynagar and walk to the temple.

Traffic officials have urged citizens and pilgrims to follow the advisory strictly and cooperate with the administration to avoid inconvenience and ensure a peaceful Mahashivratri celebration.
