Vaishali Trader Threatened with ‘Shroud’ and Handwritten Letter

Vaishali (Bihar):
Criminal audacity in Vaishali district appears to be on the rise. A local trader, Ratan Chaudhary, resident of Purani Bazaar in Mahua police station area, received a chilling threat at his home when unknown assailants left a shroud wrapped in a plastic packet along with a handwritten threatening letter.

Threatening Message

The letter contained a stark warning, stating that no matter where Chaudhary hides, he would be killed. The shocking delivery has sent waves of fear through the trader’s family. Ratan Chaudhary runs a general store in front of his residence, making the threat all the more personal and alarming.

Family in Fear, Police Alerted

Immediately after receiving the package, the family informed the Dial-112 police team. However, the family alleges that the police initially refused action, stating that they could not intervene since the sender was unknown. The family was then advised to lodge a formal complaint at the local police station.

Repeat Incident

This is reportedly not the first time such threats have been received. Earlier this year, on January 1, a similar threatening letter was delivered to Chaudhary’s home. At that time, police had suggested installing CCTV cameras to monitor the premises.

Police Investigation

Mahua Station Officer Rajesh Ranjan confirmed that a plastic packet containing a yellow shroud was thrown at the trader’s residence along with a handwritten letter. The letter had no date or name. Officer Ranjan stated that the police are investigating the matter, which appears suspicious, and urged anyone with information to come forward.
