Uttarakhand Weather Update (November 4, 2025): Rain and Snow Forecast in Seven Districts Including Dehradun and Uttarkashi — Yellow Alert Issued

Dehradun (Rashmi Khatri): The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for several hill districts of Uttarakhand as the state braces for a change in weather. Light rainfall and snowfall are expected in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Tehri, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh districts. Higher altitude regions above 4,000 meters are likely to receive fresh snowfall.

The cold wave conditions are expected to intensify across the mountainous regions, while dense fog in the plains may further drop temperatures. Currently, most parts of the state are experiencing dry weather, with daytime temperatures running slightly above normal — resulting in warm days and chilly mornings and evenings.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Dehradun recorded a maximum temperature of 30°C and a minimum of 16°C on Monday. For today, the temperature is expected to hover around 29°C (maximum) and 16°C (minimum).

Health Impact of Temperature Fluctuations

The widening temperature gap between day and night has been causing health issues, particularly among children and the elderly. Cases of fever, cold, and cough are on the rise due to alternating warm and cold conditions.

Snowfall and Thunderstorm Alert in Hills

The weather office has predicted light rainfall accompanied by lightning and thunder in some high-altitude areas of the state. The combination of rain and snowfall may lead to a cold wave during morning and evening hours in the hill districts.

Upcoming Weather Outlook

The yellow alert remains in effect for Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag, and Pithoragarh. However, from November 6 to 8, weather conditions across the state are expected to turn dry again. In the plains, fog formation could lower visibility and bring a slight dip in temperature.

Light showers and snow are also likely to continue in select mountainous regions on November 5, before the weather stabilizes later in the week.
