Minimum temperatures are expected to rise slightly by 1–2°C in the plains. This dry spell is likely to continue until 3 December, with intermittent light to moderate fog in the mountainous areas. Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts may experience haze in pockets.

Health Advisory: Dry Eyes on the Rise
The prolonged dry cold, coupled with dry winds, has led to an increase in eye dryness among residents. At the Eye Department of Doon Hospital, nearly 30% of patients report symptoms such as itching, irritation, watering, and sticky eyelids. Medical experts also warn of the higher risk of colds, coughs, and fever during this dry spell.
Doctors advise maintaining a controlled indoor environment, staying well-hydrated, and wearing sunglasses when outdoors to protect eyes from sunlight and wind. They also recommend reducing screen time and taking breaks every 20 minutes to relieve eye strain. Regular hand hygiene is crucial to avoid touching the eyes and worsening irritation.
Visibility and Safety Concerns
Dense fog in the hills reduces visibility, while the haze in the plains increases pollution levels. Residents are urged to exercise caution while traveling and ensure proper protection for their eyes to prevent strain, fatigue, and headaches caused by dry and cold weather conditions.
