Uttarakhand Weather Update, 21 November 2025: Dry Cold Hits Hills, Hospitals See Rising Patients

Dehradun: Residents across Uttarakhand are feeling the bite of dry cold weather as the state continues to experience a lack of rainfall, leading to health concerns and rising patient numbers in hospitals. With maximum temperatures dropping, even daytime is feeling noticeably cold, while the minimum night temperatures are adding to the chill.

Weather Overview

The dry cold is affecting areas from mountainous regions to plains, causing discomfort among locals. Meteorologists report that the weather is expected to remain dry for the next few days, with a significant day-night temperature variation. In the plains, early morning and evening fog is becoming more common due to the cooler temperatures.

The maximum temperature decline is making days colder than usual, while minimum temperatures at night are further intensifying the cold. The Meteorological Department has forecasted that this dry spell will persist across the state until at least 26 November 2025.

Rainfall Deficit

Typically, Dehradun receives around 9.5 mm of rainfall in November, but this year, not a single drop has fallen yet. Experts note that only the arrival of rain can provide relief from the current dry cold conditions.

Health Impact

The dry, chilly weather is taking a toll on public health. Hospitals are seeing an increase in patients suffering from cough, cold, fever, sore throat, and joint pains. Doctors are advising residents to take precautions against cold, maintain a balanced diet, and stay warm to avoid illness.

Residents are advised to remain cautious as the weather remains dry and cold, with continued fluctuations between daytime warmth and nighttime chill.
