Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj Launches Teaser, Songs, and Poster of ‘Godaan’; Film to Release on 6th February

Dehradun, January 29, 2026: Uttarakhand’s Tourism, Excise, and Culture Minister, Satpal Maharaj, launched the teaser, songs, and poster of the film Godaan at his camp office on Subhash Road on Thursday. Speaking at the event, Minister Maharaj said that the film is a significant effort to raise awareness about the importance of the cow, considered the soul of Sanatan Dharma, and to promote its protection.

The film is set to release nationwide on 6th February 2026. Minister Maharaj congratulated the entire team and remarked that Bollywood is undergoing a transformative phase. “Films today are no longer limited to traditional stories. Directors and producers are exploring social issues and diverse themes,” he said.

Directed by Vinod Chaudhary, Godaan presents the importance of the cow in Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma through a scientific lens. According to the Minister, the film delivers a powerful societal message and serves as a medium to connect the country’s youth with their cultural and spiritual roots.

Minister Maharaj expressed confidence that the film could influence those involved in crimes like cow slaughter, potentially leading to a change of heart. Produced with a budget of ₹40 crore, the film was shot across the scenic landscapes of Uttarakhand, as well as in Noida, Mathura, and Mumbai. Several real-life incidents have been incorporated to make the story more compelling. Godaan promises not only entertainment but also a serious social and spiritual message.

Speaking further, the Minister emphasized the growing disconnect from cultural roots in contemporary society. “This film is a vital attempt to save the vanishing cow and make people understand its significance,” he said. He also highlighted that Bollywood is evolving, with filmmakers now taking on social issues, suspense thrillers, and unconventional themes beyond traditional family-oriented narratives.

The launch event was attended by several dignitaries and team members, including Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee; Surendra Mittal, Manager of Vishva Samvad Kendra; and Manika Sharma, member of Kamdhenu Gaushala Committee.
