
Dehradun: In an unannounced visit on Friday, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inspected the Dalanwala Police Station and expressed strong displeasure over the untidy lockup and general disorder. During the inspection, the CM directed the SSP to immediately ensure proper cleanliness and organize facilities according to prescribed standards.
SHO’s Delay Draws CM’s Wrath
Despite prior notice of the inspection, SHO Manoj Mainwal arrived late at the station, which drew CM Dhami’s ire. The Chief Minister went through police registers personally and instructed the SSP to place the delinquent SHO on line for disciplinary action.
Comprehensive Review of Facilities and Records
After concluding various official meetings on Friday, the CM visited the police station unexpectedly. He conducted a detailed inspection of the women’s help desk, FIR registers, and duty charts. Pending cases were reviewed, and police personnel were instructed to treat complaints with utmost responsibility, ensuring immediate, impartial, and effective resolution.

CM Dhami personally interacted with women at the help desk, hearing their grievances. He stressed the importance of sensitivity, confidentiality, and prompt action in matters related to women’s safety, warning of strict consequences for any negligence.
Strict Directives on Police Operations
During the visit, the CM also reviewed ongoing vehicle inspection drives, verification campaigns, and crime control measures, emphasizing that no laxity would be tolerated. Expressing serious dissatisfaction with traffic management in the area, he ordered thorough investigations to assign accountability.
