Post-Delhi Blast: UP ATS Detains Three Jaish-e-Mohammed Associates, Interrogation Underway

Saharanpur, UP: Following the recent Delhi blast, security agencies in western Uttar Pradesh have been put on high alert. On Tuesday, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) conducted a covert operation in Saharanpur and Deoband, taking three individuals into custody. The detained suspects are reportedly close associates of Dr. Adil Ahmed, who was earlier arrested in connection with the blast for his links to the terror group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

Background of the Arrests

Dr. Adil Ahmed was apprehended by Jammu & Kashmir police four days ago in Saharanpur, revealing his alleged connections with Jaish-e-Mohammed. Since then, the ATS and intelligence agencies have maintained heightened vigilance across the district. Tuesday’s operation involved simultaneous raids in Deoband and two other areas of Saharanpur, resulting in the detention of three individuals who were seen multiple times at Dr. Adil’s hospital.

Local Residents Provide Information

The ATS operation was carried out with such secrecy that even local police were reportedly unaware. Sources indicate that investigators are now examining how Dr. Adil allegedly used his position in a private hospital to expand his network and whether he devised any infiltration strategies in Saharanpur.

One individual, Bilal from Papdi village, is also under investigation. Authorities found his house locked, and locals reported no sign of his family in recent days. Intelligence suggests Bilal may have ties with Al-Qaeda networks and could have been involved in terrorist plotting.

Interrogation and Intelligence Gathering Ongoing

In Deoband, intelligence agencies have begun scrutinizing records of Kashmiri students and tenants. Information is being collected covertly from madrasas and medical colleges to track potential suspects. Landlords in multiple areas have been questioned to verify if any suspicious individuals are residing in their properties.

Tight Security in Surrounding Areas

Following the Delhi blast, Saharanpur, Deoband, Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Meerut, and nearby districts remain under strict surveillance. The ATS, Intelligence Bureau (IB), and local police are working together to assess whether Dr. Adil Ahmed and his network have connections elsewhere in the country, and whether they played any indirect role in the Delhi incident.

Authorities continue to stress vigilance and have urged residents to report any suspicious activity as investigations proceed.
