Lucknow / Uttar Pradesh: The Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh achieved a major breakthrough on Wednesday by arresting Priyanka Singh, a 40-year-old fugitive who had been on the run since 2019. She was apprehended from Saubhagyam Apartment, Eldico Colony, Tower-10, Room 1205, PGI area, Lucknow.

Priyanka Singh was wanted in connection with 19 criminal cases across 10 districts, including Jaunpur, Varanasi, Lucknow, Mau, Lalitpur, Azamgarh, and Fatehpur. The charges against her include fraud, criminal conspiracy, cheating, and intimidation.

Background and Criminal Activities
Priyanka Singh, a resident of Sahara State, Janakipuram, along with her husband Rajesh Kumar Singh and five associates, had founded a company in 2011 named J.K.V. Land & Developers Infrastructure Limited. The company operated from its registered office at Fan Bank Avenue, Havelock Road, Hazratganj, Lucknow, with a branch in Lalitpur at Elaichi Chauhara Cine Philex.

The company hired agents who issued investors FDs, passbooks, and investment certificates. Gradually, hundreds of investors deposited crores of rupees into the company. Within a few months, all directors and official documents vanished overnight, leaving investors defrauded. Complaints were filed with Lalitpur Police, and investigations led to the arrest of Ashish Srivastava, a director, in Indore on 29 June. Priyanka Singh, however, remained on the run, prompting IG Jhansi to announce a ₹50,000 reward for her capture.

Arrest and Confession
During interrogation, Priyanka Singh admitted her involvement in setting up the company with her husband and associates and collecting crores of rupees from investors in Lalitpur. After the company collapsed, she and her accomplices fled to Lucknow, Prayagraj, and other districts to evade arrest.

The STF has now taken her into custody and lodged her at PGI Police Station, Lucknow. Further legal proceedings will be conducted under Investigator Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar Mishra at Lalitpur Police Station. Most of the registered cases against Priyanka Singh relate to fraud, forgery, and cheating investors.
