Jai Prakash Singh Returns to BSP, Appointed In-Charge of Odisha and West Bengal

Lucknow/Delhi: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has welcomed back its senior leader Jai Prakash Singh after an eight-year hiatus. Following a meeting with BSP supremo Mayawati in Delhi, Singh has been entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the party organization in Odisha and West Bengal.

Jai Prakash Singh was earlier expelled from the party in 2018 after making controversial remarks against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. At that time, Mayawati had also accused him of collecting donations in her name.

Mission 2027: BSP’s Strategic Move
With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections 2027 approaching, BSP has intensified its preparations. Singh’s return is part of the party’s broader strategy to bring back experienced and influential leaders to strengthen its organizational base. Sources indicate that senior BSP leaders Satish Chandra Mishra and Akash Anand supported Singh’s reinstatement.

After his meeting with Mayawati in Delhi, Singh expressed gratitude and said, “Bahanji has given me another opportunity to serve the party. I will follow her directions diligently and fulfill my responsibilities with utmost dedication.” Singh is expected to soon travel to West Bengal, where he will work to fortify the party organization and promote BSP’s ideology at the grassroots level.

Political Comeback and Party Strengthening
Jai Prakash Singh has previously held significant positions, including National Vice President and National Coordinator of BSP. Party insiders believe his return will give a fresh impetus to BSP’s organizational and electoral strategy in eastern states.

Mayawati, known for relying on trusted faces, seems focused on consolidating BSP’s presence and reviving its influence as part of Mission 2027. Singh’s reinstatement underscores the party’s efforts to leverage experienced leaders to mobilize support ahead of upcoming elections.
