
A major road accident occurred on the Delhi-Kanpur National Highway (NH-34) in Hathras district, Uttar Pradesh, when a speeding truck rammed into the rear of a Roadways bus. The impact caused the bus to overturn into a roadside ditch, resulting in the instant death of the bus driver and injuries to three others, including the conductor.
Accident Details
The tragic incident took place near Umarpur village under the jurisdiction of Kotwali Sikandararao. The Roadways bus driver, Jayveer, a resident of Milawali, Etah district, died on the spot. The bus conductor, Himanshu from Mugalgarhi, Etah, sustained serious injuries along with two passengers traveling in the bus.
Authorities reached the scene immediately after receiving information about the accident. The deceased driver’s body was sent for post-mortem, while the injured were admitted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Aftermath and Rescue Efforts
The truck driver fled the scene following the collision. Police, with the help of a crane, managed to upright the overturned bus and restore traffic on the busy highway. Hathras police informed the family of the deceased, plunging them into grief over the sudden loss.
