Farmers Stage Sit-In at Car Showroom in Ghaziabad, Demand Replacement for Defective Vehicle

Ghaziabad (Vibhu Mishra): A group of farmers created a stir at a car showroom on Meerut Road after the management allegedly refused to replace a defective vehicle. The farmers staged a sit-in, laying down charpoys, cooking meals on-site, and demanding a brand-new car.

Police were called to the showroom following reports of the protest. ACP Nandgram Upasana Pandey arrived at the scene and attempted to negotiate with the farmers. However, the delegation, led by District President Bijendra Singh, refused to budge. They insisted that the protest would continue until the defective car was replaced. ACP Pandey eventually left without a resolution.

The Issue Behind the Protest
According to District President Bijendra Chaudhary, farmer Mahesh Yadav of Bamhat purchased the car on October 18. Within two days, the vehicle developed an oil leak and engine issues. When Yadav approached the showroom for assistance, the car was sent to the garage for repairs instead of being replaced.

The farmers allege that the fault lies with both the showroom management and the car manufacturer. “We are demanding a new car as compensation for the defective one. The showroom is insisting only on repairs, which is unacceptable,” said Chaudhary.

Farmer Delegation Remains Firm
The protest has drawn participation from several local farmers, including Bijendra Chaudhary, Mahesh Yadav, Meera Singh, Jaykumar Malik, Ravindra Chaudhary, Pawan Chaudhary, Lalaram, Ramkumar Chaudhary, Kuldeep Tyagi, Chhote Chaudhary, Yashveer Chaudhary, Rajendra Singh, and Pintu Chaudhary. They have made it clear that they will not vacate the showroom premises until their demand for a replacement vehicle is met.
