Barabanki: Cow Gives Birth to Three Calves — Two Bulls and One Heifer; Villagers Flock to Witness the Rare Miracle

Jitendra Kumar Maurya, Barabanki: A truly rare and astonishing incident has been reported from Gurela village in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district, where a farmer’s cow gave birth to three calves — two males and one female — at once. The extraordinary birth, which occurs only once in several lakh cases, has left locals and veterinarians equally amazed.

According to information, the cow belonging to Rajesh Mishra, a resident of Gurela under Masauli block, delivered three healthy calves on Monday. The news quickly spread across the region, drawing large crowds of villagers eager to catch a glimpse of the mother cow and her newborns. People from nearby villages are also arriving in large numbers, offering sweets and jaggery as part of their prayers and celebrations.

A Rare Natural Phenomenon

Rajesh Mishra, the proud owner, shared his astonishment:

“Our cow gave birth to three calves — two bulls and one heifer — one after another. It was a natural conception. We are a small farming family with limited resources, but this miracle has brought immense joy to our home.”

Veterinary experts have confirmed that such a case is extremely uncommon. Normally, cows give birth to a single calf; twins are rare but not unheard of. However, triplet births occur only in one out of several lakh cases.

Dr. Sanjeev Kumar, a veterinary specialist, explained:

“This happens when, during conception, the embryonic cells divide into separate entities, leading to the development of multiple calves. It is a naturally occurring genetic phenomenon, but extremely rare in cattle.”

Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Atul Awasthi added that the event is “one in a million” and confirmed that both the cow and her calves are completely healthy. A medical team has been assigned to monitor their condition and ensure proper nutrition and veterinary care.

Celebration in the Village

The unusual birth has turned Rajesh Mishra’s home into a local attraction. Villagers are calling it a divine blessing and expressing gratitude through prayers and offerings. The atmosphere in Gurela is festive, with continuous crowds gathering to witness what many describe as a miracle of nature.
