Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Following the recent Delhi blast, security in Ayodhya has been heightened, and authorities remain on high alert across the city. Tensions spiked when an abandoned bag was reported near the bus station, prompting a swift response from police and bomb disposal squads.
Police Respond Promptly
Local residents alerted police to a black bag lying unattended for several hours near the bus station. The police, accompanied by a bomb disposal team, arrived at the scene to inspect the bag. Fortunately, no explosives were found. The bag, belonging to a woman, contained clothing and cash, and posed no danger to the public.
Security Measures in Place
Authorities have intensified security checks on all routes connecting Ayodhya and are conducting screening of suspicious individuals. The alert comes ahead of the flag-hoisting ceremony at the temple, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat are scheduled to attend. Police have maintained a strong presence throughout the city to ensure public safety.
Situation Under Control
The bag was likely left behind by a bus passenger, according to police. No objectionable or hazardous material was found, and the situation was quickly normalized. Officials continue to monitor key locations until 25 November, keeping the city in high-alert mode.
