After Residents’ Plea Reaches CM Yogi, Ganga Water Supply Begins in Noida’s 7X Sector — Supertech Capetown Also Gets Connection

Noida: Ending a 12-year-long struggle for clean water, thousands of residents across Noida’s 7X sectors have finally started receiving Ganga water supply. Acting swiftly after residents’ appeals reached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Noida Authority has launched the supply of 40 MLD (million litres per day) of treated Ganga water to several residential societies, benefiting more than 2.5 lakh people.

Clean Water Reaches High-Rise Societies After 12 Years

For over a decade, residents of sectors 74, 75, 76, 77, 78, and 79 had been using high-TDS groundwater, struggling with both poor quality and inadequate supply. Many societies were forced to rely on private tankers, bearing additional financial burden. Following a recent complaint submitted directly to CM Yogi Adityanath, the long-standing issue has finally been resolved.

Launch from Sector 116 Reservoir

The new supply was formally inaugurated on Sunday at the underground reservoir in Sector 116, in the presence of local MLA Pankaj Singh and senior officials of the Noida Authority.
With this addition, Noida’s total Ganga water allocation has increased from 240 MLD to 280 MLD. According to officials, about 80% of the city’s water supply will now come from Ganga water, significantly reducing TDS levels.

Authority Confirms 40 MLD Flow from Ghaziabad

RP Singh, General Manager (Water Department) of the Noida Authority, confirmed that the additional 40 MLD of Ganga water has begun arriving from Ghaziabad and is now being distributed to societies in the 7X sector zone.

Supertech Capetown Gets Ganga Water Connection After Legal Battle

In a major relief, Supertech Capetown — one of the largest residential societies in Sector 74 — has also been connected to the Ganga water network. The Noida Authority has approved a 300mm Ganga water pipeline for the society, marking the end of a six-year-long legal and administrative battle led by its Apartment Owners Association (AOA).

AOA President Arun Sharma called it a “historic day” for residents, noting that the Authority accepted the AOA’s request after settling ₹23.49 crore in pending water dues against the builder and the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP).

The order for the new pipeline connection was issued on September 4, and supply officially began on November 8, bringing long-awaited relief to thousands of Capetown residents.

With this initiative, the Noida Authority has taken a significant step toward ensuring clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water for one of the city’s most densely populated residential zones.
