The weather across Uttar Pradesh is set to remain predominantly dry on January 29, 2026, according to the latest updates from the Lucknow Meteorological Center. Dense fog is expected in both eastern and western regions of the state, accompanied by a drop in temperatures. No rainfall is forecast, but the combination of cold northwestern winds and lingering humidity may make the chill more pronounced, especially in the plains and Terai regions.

Regional Highlights

  • Lucknow: Dense fog expected throughout the morning. While the maximum temperature will remain stable, the minimum may drop by 1°C to around 10°C. No thunderstorms or high winds are forecast.
  • Noida & Ghaziabad: Morning fog and light mist expected; no rainfall or hail anticipated. The minimum temperature in Ghaziabad could drop to 8°C.
  • Meerut: Dense fog predicted; temperatures slightly higher than the previous day with a minimum of 9°C and maximum of 21°C.
  • Gorakhpur & Varanasi: Morning haze and light fog, with dry and cold conditions prevailing. No weather warnings issued.

Temperature Trends

Recent rains and cold northwestern winds are expected to lower nighttime temperatures to between 6°C and 9°C across the state. While daytime temperatures will remain relatively moderate, the chill during mornings and nights may feel sharper in open plains. Pachmarhi will continue to be the coldest location in the state, recording a minimum temperature of 6.2°C.

Meteorologists note that while January 29 will remain largely dry and cold, weather changes may occur starting January 30, potentially continuing into the first week of February.
