Uttar Pradesh Shock: Woman Harassed, Threatened on Village Road; Police Register Case After SP Intervention

A disturbing incident of sexual harassment and intimidation has come to light from Charkhari police station area in Mahoba district, Uttar Pradesh. A woman, while returning from grazing goats in her village, was stopped by local goons who subjected her to obscene comments and threatened her with eviction from the village when she resisted.

Incident Details

The incident reportedly took place on 12 October 2025. The victim stated that Jayhind, son of Harikishan, along with an accomplice, blocked her path outside the village. The men allegedly tried to coerce her with money for a night, and when she resisted, they hurled abusive language and threatened that she would be forced to leave the village if she reported the matter to anyone or the police.

The harassers reportedly said things like:

“Send your relatives inside the house, give us a chance, make us happy, we will pay five thousand for one night.”

The victim also revealed that Jayhind has a history of previous harassment and despite earlier complaints filed against him, lack of strict action emboldened him to commit the act again.

Threats to Safety

The woman reported that the accused has been sharing her photos on mobile to publicly humiliate her, calling her derogatory names, which has impacted her socially and caused fear for her and her husband’s safety.

Police Response

Initially, the victim’s complaint at the police station did not result in action. After she submitted a letter to SP Prabal Pratap Singh, police finally registered a case against the two accused under SP’s orders. Inspector Praveen Kumar Singh stated that the investigation is ongoing and further action will be taken based on collected evidence.
