Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh: In an unusual and widely discussed moment, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State Manohar Lal Panth, also known as Mannu Kori, was seen attempting to touch the feet of Jhansi Division Commissioner Bimal Kumar Dubey during an official visit to Lalitpur. The incident, captured on video, has since gone viral on social media.
Minister Panth, MLA from Mahrauni constituency, was in Lalitpur to inspect an under-construction flyover. During the welcoming ceremony, he bent down to touch the Commissioner’s feet, a gesture that the Commissioner politely stopped, greeting the Minister with folded hands instead. Additionally, the garland that the Minister had intended to place on the Commissioner was instead taken and worn by him, a moment that brought smiles to nearby officials and political representatives present at the site.
The inspection was attended by several officials and leaders, including Sadar MLA Ramratan Kushwaha and DM Satya Prakash, as the Commissioner oversaw progress on the flyover at Kelguwan Chowraha.
Commissioner Dubey highlighted that the flyover, a long-pending project, is expected to be operational within a day or two. “This project has caused considerable inconvenience to the public for a long time. With persistent efforts by NHAI officials and continuous support from the DM and Minister Panth, it is now ready to be inaugurated. It is a significant gift to the citizens for the New Year,” he said.
The video of the incident, showcasing the unusual exchange between the Minister and the Commissioner, has generated widespread attention on social media, reflecting a mix of amusement and curiosity among viewers.
