UP Voter List Revision: Only Two Days Left to Submit SIR Forms

Lucknow: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Uttar Pradesh is in its final phase, with the last date for form submission set as 26 December 2025. Voters who have not yet submitted their SIR forms are urged to complete the process before the deadline.

Across districts, special camps have been organized, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) deployed at polling stations to assist residents in filling and submitting SIR forms. Political party representatives are also actively involved in facilitating the process. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary have called upon public representatives to ensure maximum participation in this exercise.

Why SIR is Important
The SIR process is crucial for updating the voter list. It ensures the removal of deceased or migrated voters while adding newly eligible voters. BLOs have visited households to distribute SIR forms, which must be completed and submitted. The collected data is entered online, forming the basis for the updated draft voter list.

Timeline for Draft and Final Voter List
The Election Commission has set 31 December for the publication of the draft voter list, considering the large size and voter population of Uttar Pradesh. The final voter list will be published in February 2026. Voters who miss the SIR form submission can still challenge the draft list with valid documents, and their claims will be considered before finalization.

Form-6 for New Voters
New voters aged 18 years or above whose names are not yet included in the voter list can submit Form-6 through BLOs or online via the ECINet app or https://voters.eci.gov.in. These voters will also be included in the final voter list.

Voters are strongly advised to complete their SIR or Form-6 submission before 26 December to ensure their inclusion in the updated electoral rolls.
