UP Social Welfare Department Launches Free PCS Coaching for Eligible Students

Lucknow: In a significant move to support aspiring civil servants, the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department has announced a free coaching program for PCS Main Examination preparation. This initiative aims to provide quality guidance and essential resources to meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds, enabling them to compete effectively for higher services. Eligible candidates from SC, ST, and OBC categories can benefit from this program.

The specialized training sessions will be conducted at the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Research and Training Institute, Bhagidari Bhawan, Gomtinagar, Lucknow. According to Anand Kumar Singh, Joint Director of Bhagidari Bhawan, the program is currently available only for male candidates who have cleared the UPPCS Preliminary Examination 2025. Admission will be offered through lateral entry, provided the candidate’s family income does not exceed ₹6 lakh per year.

To enroll, candidates must submit copies of preliminary exam certificates, caste certificate, income certificate, and educational documents. Additionally, a security deposit of ₹2,000 is required, which will be refunded upon successful verification of documents. The coaching sessions will continue regularly until the main examination dates are announced.

The program also provides free hostel accommodation, meals, and library access to ensure that students from underprivileged backgrounds have a conducive learning environment. Candidates will receive specialized classes from subject experts, main exam-focused answer writing practice, model tests, and study materials aligned with the examination pattern.

Anand Kumar Singh emphasized that the initiative is designed to bridge the resource gap for talented candidates, enabling them to prepare effectively for the PCS main exams and achieve their career goals.
