UP Police to Use AI to Bust Illegal Religious Conversion Rackets; CM Yogi Orders Zero Tolerance

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered strict and decisive action against internationally funded illegal religious conversion rackets, directing the state police to deploy Artificial Intelligence (AI), financial trail mapping, and advanced technical analysis to dismantle such networks at their roots.

Following discussions in the UP Assembly related to the Changur illegal encroachment case, the Chief Minister has put law enforcement agencies on high alert, making it clear that the state will adopt a zero-tolerance policy against forced and unlawful religious conversions.

AI, Financial Trails, and Technology to Track Networks

CM Yogi instructed the police to make effective and robust use of AI-based intelligence tools, financial transaction tracking, and modern surveillance systems to identify, investigate, and completely eliminate conversion syndicates operating illegally in the state.

“These networks must be uprooted entirely. There should be no leniency. Every link in the chain must be exposed and destroyed,” the Chief Minister said.

Address at Police Manthan Programme

The Chief Minister was speaking at the medal felicitation ceremony during the conclusion of the Police Manthan programme at the police headquarters. On the occasion, he honoured officers and personnel who received the Chief Minister’s Police Medal over the past three years.

Praising the efficiency and dedication of the police force, CM Yogi emphasized the need for strategic preparedness and technological empowerment to tackle emerging security challenges.

Major Focus on Border Security

CM Yogi also issued strong directions regarding border security, especially along the international borders with Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal. Dedicated Cyber Headquarters to Be Set Up

He stressed the need for specialized technical infrastructure and trained manpower to effectively counter crimes related to the dark web, online fraud, digital scams, and cyber terrorism.

Strict Action Against Social Media Misuse

CM Yogi issued clear instructions to act firmly against anti-social and anarchic elements, stating that misuse of social media to spread misinformation or disturb communal harmony will not be tolerated.

“Any post aimed at inciting religious hatred or dividing society on the basis of caste or religion must be dealt with immediately and decisively,” he said, warning that no softness would be shown toward such offenders.

Crackdown on Fake Organizations

The Chief Minister also cautioned against individuals misusing the names of national icons and revered personalities to form dubious organizations and create social unrest. He directed police to conduct thorough background checks and demolish such networks, ensuring that all actions remain within the constitutional framework, transparency, and rule of law.

Call for Smart and Sensitive Policing

Concluding his address, CM Yogi urged the police force to understand evolving crime patterns and respond with a blend of technology, vigilance, and sensitivity, reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s law-and-order system and public trust.
