UP Government Launches Women AI Mission to Train 1 Crore Women in AI and Data Analytics by 2047

Lucknow, February 18, 2026: The Uttar Pradesh government is set to launch the Women AI Mission under its “Developed UP @2047” campaign, aiming to train over 1 crore women in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics by 2047. The initiative seeks to increase women’s participation in the workforce and promote both self-employment and employment opportunities in the technology sector.

AI Training and PPP Model
The training program will leverage digital platforms and the existing AI lab network across the state. In collaboration with leading global companies like Google, Meta, and OpenAI, women will receive practical training under a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The IT and Electronics Department will formalize agreements with multiple companies for this purpose. Additionally, AI centers will be established at divisional and district levels to provide localized training.

Women Industrial Centers and Investment Plans
The state government will also set up dedicated Women Industrial Centers, designed as specialized industrial zones with strict safety arrangements for women. These centers aim to enhance female participation in IT and AI sectors. The proposed groundbreaking ceremony targets ₹50,000 crore in investments, building on previous investments of ₹91,582 crore under the GBC-4.0 initiative.

Boosting Women’s Role in Technology
Through the Women AI Mission, women will gain technical skills and opportunities to actively contribute to industries, significantly increasing their role in the state’s AI and IT sectors while expanding employment opportunities. The mission also aligns with the government’s ongoing plan to develop an AI City in Lucknow, providing a hub for technology training and innovation.
