UP Budget 2026: ₹10,888 Crore Allocated for Agricultural Schemes, Major Announcements for Farmers

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The Yogi Adityanath government has unveiled significant provisions for farmers in its 10th state budget for the financial year 2026-27. Presenting the budget in the Assembly, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna highlighted the state’s commitment to increasing farmers’ income and boosting agricultural productivity.

The budget allocates ₹10,888 crore specifically for agricultural schemes, signaling the government’s focus on enhancing crop production and irrigation facilities across the state.

Record Payments to Sugarcane Farmers
A major highlight of the budget is the announcement of record payments to sugarcane farmers. The Finance Minister stated that over the past nine years, the government has paid ₹3,04,321 crore to sugarcane farmers—₹90,888 crore more than previous administrations. These payments aim to strengthen farmers’ financial stability and incentivize higher productivity.

Special Focus on Farmers
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that farmers remain a top priority for the state government. Under the largest grain storage initiative, the government will provide subsidies for constructing warehouses and godowns to ensure better storage and distribution. The CM stressed that farmers are the backbone of India’s growth and that the state government is working to transform them into agri-entrepreneurs. Multiple schemes are being implemented to support farmers in enhancing productivity, marketing, and infrastructure.

With these measures, Uttar Pradesh aims to maintain its position as a leading agricultural state in India while ensuring that farmers’ welfare and empowerment remain central to state policies.
