Lucknow: Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly’s Winter Session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired an important meeting of the BJP Legislature Party at Lok Bhawan on Sunday evening. The meeting was attended by BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, senior ministers, MLAs, MLCs, and leaders of NDA ally parties. CM Yogi directed all ministers and legislators to enter the House fully prepared and respond to opposition questions with facts and clarity.
Winter Session to Run Till December 24
The Winter Session of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly began on December 19 and will continue till December 24. Although the session formally started earlier, legislative business will commence in full swing from today. The government is scheduled to present the Supplementary Budget, followed by a detailed discussion in the House.
A special discussion is also slated on the occasion of 150 years of “Vande Mataram”, which will be debated for nearly four hours.
Government Ready to Answer Opposition
Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said the sole objective of the BJP and NDA Legislature Party meeting was to ensure that the session runs smoothly.
“If the opposition raises issues, the government is fully prepared to respond,” he said.
Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak stated that the Supplementary Budget would be presented in the Assembly and discussed thoroughly.
“Our commitment is towards the 25 crore people of Uttar Pradesh. The government is dedicated to improving living standards and maintaining strong law and order. In every situation, we stand with the common people,” he asserted.
Ally Parties Reiterate Support
Nishad Party President and Minister Sanjay Nishad reaffirmed his party’s support to the government, saying that BJP’s vision focuses on uplifting people at the grassroots level.
“Nation comes first. The opposition’s role is limited to opposition alone,” he remarked.
Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that the Supplementary Budget marks the first financial extension of the Yogi government’s third term and will further accelerate development programs across the state.
BJP Attacks Opposition
Minister Swatantra Dev Singh launched a sharp attack on the Samajwadi Party, claiming it has no real issues to raise in the Assembly.
“They were rejected by the people due to goondaism and corruption. We are presenting the agenda of development,” he said.
Minister Kapil Dev Agarwal termed the discussion on Vande Mataram as a matter of pride, stating that under CM Yogi’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh is witnessing continuous development and writing new success stories.
Tradition of Pre-Session Guidance
Minister Jaiveer Singh said it has been a long-standing tradition to hold such meetings before the Assembly session begins, where the Chief Minister provides guidance to legislators and ministers for effective participation in the House.
Earlier, on the first day of the session, the Assembly paid tribute to the late Ghosi MLA Sudhakar Singh, after which proceedings were adjourned.
