
Patna, February 21, 2026: In a significant diplomatic and technological engagement, the United Kingdom’s Artificial Intelligence Minister Kanishk Narayan met with Sanjay Kumar Jha, National Working President and Rajya Sabha MP of Janata Dal (United), at his residence in Patna on Saturday morning.
The meeting highlighted Bihar’s growing prominence in the field of artificial intelligence and digital innovation. Welcoming the UK Minister in traditional style, Jha honored Narayan with a Mithila Paag and shawl, symbolizing cultural pride and respect.
“It Feels Good to Return to Bihar”
Speaking after the meeting, Kanishk Narayan expressed deep emotional and professional satisfaction at returning to his birthplace after more than two decades.
“It feels truly wonderful to be in Bihar. I was born here and have returned after more than 20 years. The progress is clearly visible. Bihar is moving forward in shaping the future of technology,” he said.
He acknowledged the rapid development in infrastructure and technological advancement, noting that Bihar is steadily positioning itself as a key player in India’s digital transformation.

Responding to the remarks, Sanjay Kumar Jha emphasized Bihar’s readiness to compete on a global technological platform.
“Today everything is global, and Bihar is matching pace with technological progress. We have a large and dynamic youth population excelling across sectors. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has built a strong platform. Now, you can fly as high as you want,” Jha said.
He further highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in critical sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and public services. As an agriculture-dominated state, Bihar sees immense scope in AI-driven agri-tech solutions that can enhance productivity and sustainability.
Bihar Emerges as AI Investment Hub
At the India AI Impact Summit & Expo 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Bihar Pavilion reportedly emerged as a major attraction for investors. The state showcased its AI-focused policies, startup ecosystem, digital infrastructure, and cost-effective operational environment.
Rapidly expanding data centers, availability of skilled manpower, and supportive governance have strengthened Bihar’s image as a favorable destination for tech investments. Several national and international firms reportedly expressed keen interest in establishing AI-based projects in sectors such as:
