Two Young Brothers Drown in Water Tank of Under-Construction House, FIR Filed Against Owner

Tikamgarh: Tragedy struck on Kunwarpura Road in Tikamgarh district when two young brothers, staying in a rented house for studies, fell into a water tank of an under-construction building and drowned. The victims, seven-year-old Ashish Yadav and his five-year-old brother Narendra Yadav, were playing near the site when the accident occurred.

Search and Recovery
The children did not return home by evening, prompting their family to search the nearby areas. After an extensive search yielded no results, they reached the under-construction house nearby. Upon inspecting the water tank, the bodies of both children were found and retrieved around 8 PM. The police arrived at the scene, conducted an official survey, and sent the bodies to Tikamgarh District Hospital for a post-mortem, scheduled for Saturday morning. The incident has left the local community and the children’s family in shock.

Negligence and Legal Action
According to the law, construction sites must be barricaded and water tanks covered to prevent accidents. Negligence in such cases can lead to prosecution under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with death caused by negligence, and the responsible parties can face penalties. Advocate Varun Gupta emphasized the importance of adhering to safety regulations at construction sites.

FIR Against Owner
Tikamgarh Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Kushwaha confirmed that both victims were brothers living in a rented house while studying. They had wandered into the under-construction building during playtime. Following the discovery of their bodies, the SDOP stated that an FIR has been registered against the owner of the construction site, and the police are investigating the matter from all angles.

The tragic incident highlights the critical need for strict safety measures at construction sites to prevent such avoidable accidents.
