Two Suspected Bangladeshi Nationals Obtain Fake Indian Passports in Bhopal, Now Missing; Intelligence Agencies Launch Hunt

Bhopal.
A major security concern has surfaced in Madhya Pradesh after two suspected Bangladeshi brothers allegedly secured Indian passports using forged documents — and have now gone missing. Police and intelligence agencies have launched an intensive search to trace them. The incident has also coincided with a Pakistani woman moving the MP High Court seeking the return of her Indian husband.

Fake Documents Used to Secure Indian Passports

According to officials, the two accused — Mohammad Rehan Ansari and Mohammad Maqbool Ansari, sons of Safkool Haq Ansari — fraudulently obtained passports by citing an address in Rajvaidya Colony, Kolar Road, Bhopal.

Suspicion was raised at the Passport Office, following which an intelligence agency sent a verification request to the local police. The letter was forwarded to Assistant Commissioner of Police Anjali Raghuvanshi, triggering a detailed investigation.

Reality Check: They Never Lived at the Claimed Address

Investigations revealed that the two brothers had executed a rent agreement on 7 August 2014 using the Rajvaidya Colony address. On the basis of this forged tenancy document, they obtained Aadhaar cards and voter IDs, which were subsequently used to apply for Indian passports.

However, during verification the house owner confirmed that the two men had never lived at the property, indicating a clear case of identity fraud.

FIR Registered; Both Accused Missing

Following confirmation of the fraud, Kolar Police registered an FIR against both men under charges of cheating and relevant sections of the Passport Act. Authorities state that ever since receiving their passports, the duo has been untraceable.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Mayur Khandelwal said that efforts are underway to track their movements and locate their current whereabouts.
