Kota, Rajasthan, January 23, 2026: This year, the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Delhi will witness two remarkable individuals from Kota, Rajasthan, as special guests on the ceremonial Kartavya Path parade. Pitambar and Ghanshyam Vishisht, once modest street vendors, have risen through hard work and determination to now join discussions with central ministers and witness the grand parade firsthand.
Hailing from Kota, Pitambar, a bicycle mechanic from Khedli Phatak, and Ghanshyam Kushwah, a fast-food entrepreneur from Landmark Colony, started their ventures in 2020 with just ₹10,000 loans under the PM Svnidhi Scheme. Their efforts have transformed them into inspiring examples of self-reliance, earning them national recognition.
On January 25, both will attend a discussion session with Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and on January 26, they will enjoy the Republic Day parade as honored guests. Out of 49 street vendors selected nationwide, only these two from Kota represent Rajasthan, highlighting the city’s leadership in implementing the PM Svnidhi Scheme.
Kota has emerged as a model district, having disbursed over ₹35.16 crore in loans to 16,793 street vendors, empowering thousands with new livelihoods and fostering entrepreneurial growth in the region.
