Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh:
The legal net is tightening around Sharik Satha, the alleged mastermind behind last year’s violence in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The police have now registered two additional FIRs against him at the Nakhasa Police Station. The filings come under the supervision of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) as authorities intensify efforts to bring the absconding accused to justice.
Sharik Satha, son of Sahak Hussain from Mohalla Pjaya Deepa Sarai, has been on the run for several years, with reports indicating he has been outside India since 2020. Multiple police raids to apprehend him have so far been unsuccessful, although authorities remain vigilant and continue their search. Previously, arrest warrants and non-bailable warrants (NBWs) were issued, and property attachment orders were announced due to his failure to appear in court.
Investigation and SIT Efforts:
The SIT report highlights persistent attempts to arrest Satha, who allegedly continues to orchestrate unlawful activities from abroad. The police are also probing possible external assistance that may be aiding his evasion. Both new FIRs are now officially recorded at Nakhasa Police Station, and the SIT has submitted detailed reports to senior officials for further action.
Authorities emphasize that the crackdown will continue until Satha is brought to justice. He is considered the main orchestrator of the Sambhal violence, and law enforcement remains committed to exhausting all avenues to ensure his arrest.
Background:
Sharik Satha has long been a wanted figure, linked to multiple criminal cases, with last year’s Sambhal unrest being the most high-profile. Despite ongoing efforts, he has yet to surrender, maintaining a pattern of evasion even under court-issued warrants.
This development signals a renewed push by the Uttar Pradesh police and SIT to dismantle the networks supporting him and hold him accountable for the past violence.
