
Patna, Bihar – A minor land dispute turned deadly on Friday in Rasulpur village, under Fatuhā police station in Patna, leaving two people dead and one critically injured. The clash, reportedly over just two inches of land, has sent shockwaves through the local community.
Shooting Incident Over Small Plot of Land
According to police reports, the victims, 50-year-old Rajwanti Devi and 55-year-old Devsagar Singh, were shot during an altercation and later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. A third victim, Rajan Prasad, is receiving treatment at Patna Medical College & Hospital (PMCH). Jitendra Kumar, son of Rajwanti Devi, stated that the dispute was between two brothers, Shravan Prasad and Rajkumar Yadav, over a longstanding minor land issue.
He said the confrontation escalated Friday morning when Shivam Kumar Yadav allegedly arrived at the scene and opened fire. Both his mother and Devsagar Singh were shot and died from excessive blood loss, while he and others sustained injuries. Jitendra emphasized that the dispute was trivial, covering just two inches of land.
Police Action and Recovery of Weapons
Following the incident, police were deployed in the village to maintain law and order. Superintendent of Police Kundan Kumar, along with officers, arrived at the scene to investigate. Authorities recovered two pistols, a sword, and several spent cartridges from the site. The suspects fled the area, and police have launched raids to apprehend them.
The local community has demanded strict action against the perpetrators and adequate compensation for the victims’ families. While the situation remains tense, law enforcement officials have assured that all necessary steps are being taken to prevent further escalation.
