Two Jodhpur Police Constables Suspended for Alleged Role in Kidnapping of 18-Year-Old

Jodhpur:
In a shocking turn of events, two serving police constables have been suspended for their alleged involvement in the daylight kidnapping of an 18-year-old youth in Jodhpur. Acting swiftly on the findings of a technical investigation, the Police Commissioner suspended Constables Parsaram and Jagdish, both posted at Khanda Phalsa Police Station.

The police have arrested five accused in the case and safely rescued the kidnapped youth, Manan (18). Preliminary investigations suggest that the abduction was orchestrated over a dispute related to monetary transactions.

Kidnapping in Broad Daylight

According to police officials, the incident occurred on the afternoon of January 29, when Manan, son of Mohammad Umar, a resident of Mertian Gate, was on his way to have tea. He was allegedly abducted by masked men who arrived in a white Baleno car and forcibly took him away.

Under the supervision of DCP (East) P.D. Nitya, multiple police teams were formed to investigate the case. As the probe progressed, startling revelations emerged.

Technical Evidence Exposes Police Links

During the investigation, police examined the call detail records (CDRs) of the main accused, Raqib, which revealed continuous contact with the two constables. The technical evidence indicated that the uniformed personnel were allegedly in touch with the criminals during the execution of the conspiracy.

Based on these findings, the Police Commissioner ordered the immediate suspension of both constables and initiated a departmental inquiry. During the suspension period, their headquarters have been fixed at the Police Lines.

Accused Arrested, Motive Identified

The arrested accused have been identified as Faizan Shah, Raqib, Asif Ali, Kamlesh Kumar and Bhavesh Patel. Investigators revealed that the kidnappers were previously acquainted with the victim and that a long-standing financial dispute led to the planning and execution of the crime.

Police teams led by Additional DCP Virendra Singh and ACP Manglesh Chundawat acted swiftly to crack the case. While the prompt arrests have drawn appreciation, the alleged involvement of police personnel has raised serious questions over departmental integrity.

Senior officials stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty, regardless of rank, and reiterated that the police force would not tolerate misconduct within its ranks.
