Trouble for RJD’s Ritlal Yadav? ED May File Case Following Patna Police Report

Patna: The legal troubles of former RJD MLA Ritlal Yadav appear to be deepening. Patna Police have submitted a detailed investigation report to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), paving the way for a possible case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against the ex-MLA.

Sources say the police report alleges that Ritlal Yadav ran an organized criminal syndicate, earning crores of rupees through extortion and illegal land grabs.

Findings of the Police Investigation

The investigation, conducted by Khagaul Police Station and a Special Investigation Team (SIT), reportedly established that Yadav and his associates forcibly occupied government land, constructed illegal structures, and extorted money from builders and landowners in the Danapur Assembly area.

Key findings include:

  • Seizure of 3 acres of government land in Kotwan Mauja, enclosed by a high wall
  • Illegal construction at Ramashish Chowk in Kotwan village, named after Ritlal Yadav’s late father
  • Occupation of 76 dismil land in Mustafapur Mauja, where 16 shops were built, from which rent is allegedly collected through associates

Police Hand Over Report to ED

Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that the police report has been forwarded to the Enforcement Directorate, which will decide on further action. “Ritlal faces multiple allegations, including running a criminal syndicate, extortion, illegal land occupation, and intimidation,” said the SSP.

Ritlal Yadav and his brother Pinku Yadav are currently in jail. The case surfaced after builder Kumar Gaurav filed a complaint in April, alleging that the Yadavs demanded ₹50 lakh and threatened him with violence.
