Maksi, Madhya Pradesh: A major train accident was narrowly avoided near Maksi railway station on Saturday when a goods train traveling from Ujjain to Guna derailed after a track broke. Several coaches of the train went off the track, splitting the train into two sections. Following the incident, train operations on both sides of the track were temporarily suspended.
According to reports, a rail track near Maksi station in Shajapur district broke while the train was passing over it, causing the train coaches to derail. The sudden derailment split the train into two parts, creating panic among railway authorities.
Railway PRO Khemraj Meena confirmed that a team of experts has been dispatched to the site to assess the situation. Initial investigations suggest that the accident was caused due to the track failure, which destabilized the train and caused the coaches to leave the rails. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Officials and railway staff rushed to the site immediately after the incident to inspect the damage and commence repair work. Train operations were temporarily halted on the affected route but restoration efforts are underway.
Maksi station in-charge Mukesh Jain stated that preliminary observations indicate a possible track fault as the cause. A technical team from Ujjain has been sent to conduct a detailed investigation, and the situation will become clearer once the report is submitted.
Railway authorities on-site refrained from giving detailed statements, emphasizing that a comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
