Sidhi, Madhya Pradesh:
During Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to Sidhi district, an emotional incident unfolded that drew widespread attention. Anamika Baiga, a young girl from the Baiga community with dreams of becoming a doctor, tried to reach the CM to seek financial assistance for her education. However, heavy security measures and lack of administrative attention prevented her from approaching the stage, leaving her in tears.
Security Blocks Access
Anamika, a resident of Dhauhni Assembly Constituency, had previously approached both the District Collector and her local MLA, Kunwar Singh Tekam, twice, but her pleas went unheard. On Friday, as Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted his visit to Bahari in Singhaval constituency, Anamika attempted to meet him personally. Security personnel blocked her path, prompting her to sob uncontrollably in front of the media while explaining her situation.
Dreams of Becoming a Doctor
Anamika expressed her desire to pursue a medical career, explaining that her father’s financial condition is extremely poor and cannot afford her education. “I want to become a doctor. My dream is to serve people. I wanted to meet the Chief Minister to request financial assistance for my studies, but I was not allowed to,” she told reporters. She emphasized that the government should act in the best interest of daughters like her who aspire to achieve higher education.
Previous Attempts Ignored
Despite her efforts to meet the District Collector twice and her regional MLA, Anamika’s requests were ignored. She could not meet the Chief Minister, who went on to inaugurate 209 development projects costing ₹201.64 crore in Bahari, Singhaval Assembly area.
This incident highlights the struggles faced by marginalized community students in accessing education and seeking government support, and underscores the urgent need for inclusive administrative attention.
